Removal, grace and lifetime access
When a role lapses, and when it never does.
Grace period
When a source announces the end of an entitlement, Bao does not remove the role on the spot: it puts it in grace for the number of days you set.
That is what avoids cutting off a customer whose payment merely failed while the bank retried. If the entitlement is reopened in the meantime, the removal is cancelled.
You can force immediate removal by setting a grace of 0 days.
Expiry
An entitlement can carry an expiry date. It lapses on its own at that date, with no need for your shop to say anything. It is the simplest mechanism for time-limited access.
Lifetime access
An entitlement marked lifetime is never removed automatically. That is the case for one-off purchases.
The safeguard
The Discord role is only removed if no active entitlement justifies it any more. A member who bought the same tier twice does not lose their role when the first subscription ends.
Manual management
The dashboard and the /premium command let you grant or remove a tier by hand, independently of any source. Useful for a gift, a goodwill gesture, or a disputed case.
