Anti-raid
Spot a wave of joins and react before the damage.
A raid is dozens of accounts joining within seconds to spam or abuse.
Detection
Two settings define the trigger:
- join threshold: number of members (2 to 100);
- window: over how many seconds (1 to 120).
By default: 8 joins in 10 seconds.
Reactions
They combine:
| Reaction | Effect |
|---|---|
| Alert in the log | An alert is recorded |
| Mention a role | Your team is notified immediately |
| Raise the verification level | Discord switches to heightened verification for N minutes (up to 7 days), then returns on its own |
| Kick automatically | Accounts that arrived during the wave are kicked |
Combining with the rest
Anti-raid works better alongside two other settings:
- a grant delay on autorole: the raid accounts never get the access they came for;
- the auto-moderation spam rule, which cuts off burst messages even if some accounts slip through.
Care with automatic kicking
Automatic kicking is effective, but it also hits genuine members who arrived at the wrong moment (right after a video mentioning your server, for instance). If your server sees legitimate join spikes, prefer raising the verification level.
Anti-raid and automatic sanction escalation are included from Bao Gourmet onwards.
