Moderation log
The sanction history, and what it is for.
The moderation log lists every moderation action, from the most recent to the oldest: warnings, timeouts, kicks, bans, automatic and manual alike.
Each line carries the member concerned, the action, the reason, the author (Bao or a moderator) and the date.
Two surfaces
- In the dashboard, with search and filters.
- In a Discord channel, if you designate one: every action is mirrored there live.
This channel is separate from the other two logs. See The three logs.
What it is really for
- Answering "why was I sanctioned?" with a fact, not a memory.
- Checking that a sanction ladder is not hitting too hard.
- Spotting an over-zealous moderator, or a member who keeps reoffending.
The depth of readable history depends on your plan. Older lines stay visible with their date and their nature, but their content is hidden. Nothing is deleted: everything becomes readable again if you move back up a plan.
