Carrying over another bot’s configuration

Scan a competing bot, read the report, apply what you approve.

Switching bots should not mean reconfiguring everything by hand. Bao can read what another bot has set up on your server and offer you the equivalent.

How it works

  1. Detection. Bao lists the other bots present on the server and indicates which ones it can carry over.
  2. Scan. You start a scan. It runs in the background for a few minutes. The scan only reads: it writes nothing, neither to the server nor to your configuration.
  3. Report. Bao shows you what it recovered, with a confidence level for each item, and what remains out of reach.
  4. Approval. You tick what you want to apply. Nothing is applied without your explicit approval.

One scan at a time per server. You can cancel it while it runs.

What carries over well

Everything visible on the server: published panels and messages, role menus, readable auto-moderation rules, the channels and categories in use, level rewards announced publicly.

What does not carry over

Whatever lives only inside the other bot and is exposed nowhere: your members' XP history, past logs, statistics, tickets already closed. No bot can read another one's database.

Bao says so plainly in the report rather than letting you believe everything came across.

AI-assisted import

The scan and the report are free for everyone. AI assistance, which interprets the most ambiguous configurations and proposes a faithful translation into Bao, is reserved for the Bao Royal plans.
