Delivery log
Know whether a message went out, and if not, why.
The delivery log records every attempt to send a scheduled message, successful or not, from the most recent to the oldest.
It is the first place to look when a message "did not go out".
Mirroring the log into Discord
You can designate a channel where Bao mirrors the result of each delivery. Handy so the team sees failures go by without opening the dashboard.
This channel is separate from Bao's other two logs. See The three logs.
Most frequent causes of failure
| Error message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Channel not found | The channel was deleted or renamed, pick another one |
| Insufficient permissions | Bao lost the right to write in that channel |
| Mention not allowed | @everyone without the Mention Everyone permission |
| Invalid embed | A field exceeds Discord's limits (title, description, image) |
| Role not found | The role to mention was deleted |
Retrying
A failed message can be retried in one click from its record, once the cause is fixed. The content is not lost.
The depth of readable history depends on your plan. Older lines stay listed with their date, but their content is hidden. Nothing is deleted: everything becomes readable again if you move back up a plan.
