Managing your subscription
Payment, changing plan, transfer, cancellation.
Payment
Payment is by card, monthly or yearly. Yearly is markedly cheaper: the "per month" price shown on the pricing page is the yearly price divided by twelve.
Changing plan
The change is immediate from Configuration → Billing. An upgrade opens the features straight away; a downgrade cuts them at the end of the period you paid for.
Failed payment
A declined payment does not cut off your server immediately: Bao keeps your plan for a 3-day grace period, long enough for the bank retry to go through.
Transferring a subscription
A subscription is paid by a person but assigned to a server. It can be transferred to another server.
- Only the holder (the person who pays) can transfer, not just any administrator of the covered server.
- A cooldown applies between two transfers, so a single subscription cannot cover ten servers in rotation.
- The server left behind falls back to the free plan: the data stays, only the premium features are cut.
- Every transfer is logged.
Cancelling
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you paid for. The server then falls back to the free plan. No data is deleted.
