Creating a giveaway
From draft to published announcement.
Bao's giveaways are not plain reaction draws: members earn entries by completing tasks, and the draw is weighted by those entries.
Creating
From Giveaways → New, the editor is organised in tabs:
- General: title, prize, number of winners, end date, announcement channel.
- Announcement: the published message, with a live Discord preview.
- Tasks: what participants can do to earn entries.
- Anti-fraud: who is allowed to enter and to win.
- Winner message: what is published when the results are announced.
- Actions: publish, close, reroll, cancel.
The statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | In preparation, invisible |
| Scheduled | Will start automatically at the planned date |
| Running | Published, entries are open |
| Finished | Closed, the winners are drawn |
| Cancelled | Stopped without a draw |
Several winners and prize tiers
You can draw several winners, and define prize tiers: the first drawn wins the main prize, the following ones a secondary prize.
Templates
A recurring giveaway (Friday's draw, for instance) can be saved as a template: tasks, anti-fraud and formatting are reused in one click.
The free plan allows 1 giveaway per month. Paid plans have no limit.
